"So if the Son sets you free, you really will be free.” John 8:36There was a billboard sign on Hwy. 94 just outside of the city of Watertown that I used to drive by on a regular basis. I have also seen these same type of billboards on other major highways.   Read More...

  • Firstfruits Giving

Honor the Lord with your wealth, with the firstfruits from your entire harvest. (Proverbs 3:9–EHV)The last few weeks we have been taking a look at Stewardship. • God’s Word does not Fail

This does not mean that God’s word has failed, because not all who are descended from Israel are really Israel. (Romans 9:6 EHV)Please allow me to repeat myself a little bit from the sermon this past Sunday. This verse from Paul comes after he points out that the Jews fell away from faith in the one true God despite the many blessings they enjoyed as God’s own children. This might conclude some people to think that God’s Word failed—that it is not powerful and effective.   Read More...

  • Remember Jesus

“Remember Jesus Christ, risen from the dead, a descendant of David, in accordance with my gospel.” (2 Timothy 2:8)Today is September 11. If you have turned on any TV stations today, you can’t help but remember the significance of September 11. 18 years ago, terrorists hijacked those planes and killed all those people in the Twin Towers, the Pentagon and on those planes.   Read More...

  • Imputation of Righteousness

Abram believed in the LORD, and the LORD credited it to him as righteousness. (Genesis 15:6—EHV)The return-for-service model is fundamental to human relationships—we are used to getting rewarded for what we do. You get paid for doing your job—not as a gift but as an obligation, you earned it. Sadly, that same idea comes into our minds when it comes to forgiveness of sins and eternal life.   Read More...
